Dane Henry
Next generation surfing talent
Born August 20, 2006, Dane Henry is one of Australia’s most talented Surfers.
Born in the coastal town of Fingal Head, NSW, Dane’s journey began when his dad first introduced him to the ocean at three years old. Since then, he’s spent every waking moment honing his ‘creative and unpredictable’ style.
Surfing his local surf breaks of D’Bah and Snapper Rocks, Dane draws inspiration from his dad, along with Mick Fanning and Ethan Ewing. The fearless young surfer has been shaped by these incredible role models and it shows in every wave he rides.
2024 has been a breakout year for Dane, cementing his status as one of the sport’s rising stars. His triumph at the International Surfing Association (ISA) World Junior Championships, where he not only clinched the U/18 Gold medal but also, as Captain, led the Australian Team to an aggregate World Junior Gold medal, sending ripples through the international surfing community.
Viral clips of him executing a lofty full rotations, almost perfect backflips and on-rail surfing have only added to his growing online profile
As Dane embarks on his final year in the junior ranks, his focus is clear: succeed on the 2024 World Surf League (WSL) Regional Qualifying series, move on to the WSL Challenger Series in 2025, and ultimately, qualify for the WSL World Championship Tour.
With his eyes set on the highest professional level of surfing, Dane Henry is undoubtedly a name to watch.
